I'm a self-taught artist. I believe that uniqueness is the essential component of successful art and a little humor thrown in doesn't hurt. I began painting decorative signs on wood in 1995, then underwent a rapid evolution in about 2000 and started painting portraits of Renaissance women, seascapes, and fairies on watercolor paper. The Cranky Cat Collection(TM) popped up in 2001 and has since taken over my life. Yes, I'm now known as The Cranky Cat Lady.... I haven't decided if that's a good thing. My customers tell me that they love the Cranky Cats because they laugh every time they see them. People often say that they don't even like cats and they like my art (probably because the Cranky Cat shows the wicked side of the kitty). Cynthia
